Jane is Helping Fistula Patients Through Her Gift in Will

Our work to eradicate obstetric fistula is only possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters. One way to make a meaningful contribution to the continuation of Dr Catherine Hamlin’s work and a lasting tribute to women across Ethiopia is through leaving a gift in your Will, also known as a bequest.

Jane is helping eradicate fistula

Jane, a long-term supporter of the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation, chose to include a gift in her Will to ensure women suffering from fistula injuries can continue to receive life-changing treatment and support.

“I heard about the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation about 20 years ago,” Jane explains. “I suffered from a painful gynecological condition myself years ago, which was cured by surgery. I was lucky to have access to doctors, surgeons and medical care. When I read about how these women in Ethiopia suffered with obstetric fistula, I could identify with their plight and wanted to assist them.”

Jane is ensuring her contribution towards ending fistula continues for generations to come by leaving a gift in her Will.

“I am donating monthly towards a student obtaining their Masters in Midwifery degree at the Hamlin College of Midwives. I intend to continue my support with a gift in my Will. I have spoken to my family about what I am doing and they are very supportive,” says Jane.
