Dr Yeshineh has performed around 1000 fistula repair surgeries at Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia.
Dr Yeshineh recalls what interested him in Hamlin “I saw it as being a place to serve the most needy and neglected women inside very well-organized facilities. I was convinced that Hamlin was an institution where I can get both professional and moral satisfaction. I was right. Every day here we improve women’s lives”.
Dr Yeshineh’s nine years at Hamlin meant he was lucky to work with Dr Catherine Hamlin before she retired, “working with her is a blessing. She made me look beyond surgical techniques and taught me the outstanding model she created on how to provide holistic and patient-centred care for these poor women.”
Yeshineh lives in Addis Ababa with his wife and two children, aged 15 and 13. Yeshineh is an integral part of the Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia Family.
